Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh police returned empty-handed after visiting filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma's residence in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, following his failure to appear for questioning at Ongole Police Station. Varma, who was summoned to appear at 11 AM today, opted to skip the in-person investigation and offered to attend virtually instead, as per his legal team’s statement.

Speculations about Varma’s potential arrest began circulating earlier in the day as Prakasam district police arrived at his residence. However, due to the absence of a search warrant, they were unable to enter his premises. The police waited outside his residence, known as “RGV Den,” located on Road No. 71, Jubilee Hills, for several hours before leaving in the evening.

Addressing the situation, Ram Gopal Varma’s legal team stated that under the provisions of the BNSS Act, the filmmaker is allowed to attend investigations virtually. The team also warned that any attempt to arrest him would be challenged as per the law.
