Harish Rao Releases Chargesheet on Revanth Reddy’s One-Year Rule
Amid celebrations of the Congress government’s first anniversary, opposition parties like BRS and BJP have intensified their attacks on the government by releasing chargesheets highlighting its failures. In a recent move, BRS leader and former minister Harish Rao unveiled a chargesheet on Revanth Reddy’s one-year governance, heavily criticizing the administration.
Harish Rao termed Revanth Reddy’s governance a "bad omen" for farmers and described it as an "eclipse" on agriculture. He accused Revanth Reddy of failing to deliver on his electoral promises, particularly his assurance to waive farm loans immediately after assuming power. "A man who can deceive four crore people by swearing on every visible deity wouldn’t hesitate to deceive 33 crore gods," Harish Rao remarked.
Highlighting the achievements of the previous BRS government, Harish Rao contrasted the agricultural progress under their rule. “In 2014-15, the state produced 68 lakh tonnes of paddy, which increased to 1.68 crore metric tonnes by 2023-24. Similarly, the cultivated area grew from 1.31 crore acres to 2.22 crore acres during the same period. Revanth Reddy must explain how this was possible," he demanded.
Harish Rao criticized the Congress government for failing to address public grievances. He stated that Revanth Reddy’s governance brought every section of society—from students to the elderly—onto the streets in protest. He also mocked Revanth’s visit to Davos, alleging that his lack of knowledge and articulation was on full display, saying, "Only God knows what he meant by his statements."
Taking a jibe at Revanth’s alleged inconsistency, Harish Rao accused him of changing his stance frequently, comparing him to a chameleon. Referring to the Industrial Corridor issue, he alleged that Revanth Reddy shifted his position under pressure from Lagacherla farmers. Harish Rao further challenged Revanth Reddy to demonstrate genuine commitment to job creation by donating his 500 acres in Kalwakurthy, as suggested by KTR.
