The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), already reeling from a series of electoral defeats and resignations, is poised to face another major setback. Former minister Avanthi Srinivas is reportedly preparing to resign from the party, with speculation suggesting he may formalize his decision today.

Following a dismal performance in the recent elections, where the party secured only 11 seats, several senior leaders have already parted ways with YSRCP. These include former ministers, former MLAs, three Rajya Sabha members, four MLCs, as well as several Zilla Parishad Chairpersons, Corporation Chairpersons, Municipal Chairpersons, Corporators, ZPTCs, and MPTCs.

Despite YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s assurances that the party will reclaim power, the wave of resignations has shown no signs of slowing down.

Sources indicate that Avanthi Srinivas has been disenchanted with Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership style and the party’s internal functioning. He has reportedly distanced himself from party activities since the elections and has rarely been seen in the political arena.

After consulting with his close aides, Srinivas is said to have finalized his decision to leave the party. However, his next political move remains uncertain, generating significant interest in Andhra Pradesh’s political circles.
