Veteran actor Mohan Babu admitted to assaulting a journalist but urged the public to consider the circumstances surrounding the incident. In an 11-minute video released after being discharged from the hospital, he expressed regret while sharing his perspective.

Mohan Babu claimed the altercation was unintentional, emphasizing that he never meant to hit the journalist. “Would anyone tolerate someone barging into their home and disturbing their peace?” he questioned, asking the public and political leaders to reflect on the situation.

He explained that the individuals who entered his home were not clearly identifiable as journalists. Believing there might be a threat, he reacted impulsively. “I deeply regret the incident,” he said. “Though it may have been wrong to hit him, people should understand the context.”

The actor compared the situation to an invasion of personal space. “Would you accept someone interfering with your personal life?” he asked, addressing authorities, public representatives, and the media.

Allegations of Bias and Police Inaction

Mohan Babu criticized the police for alleged biased action, claiming unfair treatment despite having contributed to society through educational institutions. “The police should protect justice,” he asserted, accusing them of handling the case one-sidedly. “Breaking into my home—how is that lawful?” he asked.

He expressed readiness to face legal consequences, even offering to surrender if necessary. “I am prepared to be arrested if I have done wrong,” he declared.

Family Disputes and Emotional Distress

Discussing personal struggles, Mohan Babu blamed family disputes for adding to his distress. “My child is the one causing this disturbance,” he claimed, expressing hope for a resolution through family discussions.

Despite his charitable work, he regretted that only the assault incident gained public attention. “What I did was real; there’s no denying it,” he admitted.
