India’s batting lineup struggled in the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Brisbane, with key players returning to the pavilion quickly. The Indian team lost four crucial wickets for just 44 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal (4) and Shubman Gill (1) were dismissed by Mitchell Starc, while Josh Hazlewood got Virat Kohli (3) and Pat Cummins took Rishabh Pant (9).

Fans expressed frustration over Kohli’s repeated dismissals while playing deliveries outside the off-stump. Cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar also criticized Kohli, stating that getting out this way had become a recurring pattern.

Kohli Breaks Dravid’s Record with Just 3 Runs

Despite scoring only three runs, Virat Kohli achieved a significant milestone by surpassing former India captain Rahul Dravid’s record for most Test runs against Australia. Kohli now holds the third spot on the list of Indian batters with the most runs against Australia in Tests.

Dravid scored 2,166 runs in 62 innings against Australia, while Kohli has now amassed 2,168 runs in just 48 innings. The top two positions are held by Sachin Tendulkar (3,630 runs) and VVS Laxman (2,434 runs).

Meanwhile, rain continued to disrupt play in Brisbane. At the end of the third day’s third session, India was struggling at 48/4 in 14.1 overs, trailing by 397 runs. KL Rahul (30) and Rohit Sharma (0) were unbeaten at the crease. Earlier, Australia posted a formidable first-innings total of 445 runs.
