Who is Paying Sritej’s Hospital Bills? Here’s What His Father Said
A tragic incident on December 4 at the Sandhya Theater near RTC Cross Roads, Hyderabad, left nine-year-old Sritej critically injured in a stampede. The accident also claimed the life of his mother, Revathi, deeply affecting the family and the community. Sritej remains hospitalized, undergoing intensive treatment.
Speaking to the media, Sritej’s father revealed that his son has suffered brain cell damage, and doctors are uncertain about the timeline for his recovery. "The chances of recovery depend on whether he regains consciousness. Doctors are doing their best, and so are we," he said with visible anguish.
Addressing rumors that actor Allu Arjun’s team is restricting the family’s movements or communication with others, Sritej’s father dismissed these as baseless. Instead, he praised Allu Arjun’s team for their support. “From the second day of my son’s hospitalization, Allu Arjun’s team has been by our side,” he stated.
He further elaborated, "Allu Arjun’s managers visit the hospital daily to check on my son’s health. When Sritej underwent surgery, they consulted with the doctors. Allu Arjun’s team has provided us with ₹10 lakh so far, and they have assured an additional ₹15 lakh will be arranged soon. Initially, I paid ₹50,000 for the hospital bills, but since then, the remaining bills have been covered by Allu Arjun’s team."
The father also expressed gratitude to the Telangana government for its assistance. "Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy have extended their support. Komatireddy Sir’s foundation gave us a ₹25 lakh cheque. He also offered to cover expenses for advanced medical equipment, even if it needs to be imported from the United States," he noted.
Sritej’s father also clarified his decision to withdraw a case against Allu Arjun, stating that no external pressure influenced him. “From the second day of my son’s admission, Allu Arjun’s team has been helping us. I decided to withdraw the case not because of any coercion but because I don’t want to see him face jail over this matter,” he explained.
