The Andhra Pradesh CID's former Additional SP, Vijaypal, was arrested in connection with the custodial torture case involving Raghurama Krishnam Raju, Deputy Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, during the tenure of the previous government. Vijaypal is currently held at Guntur Jail.

Today, the Guntur Court conducted a hearing on Vijaypal’s bail petition and the CID officials’ custody petition. After hearing the arguments, the court postponed the matter, scheduling the next hearing for December 30.

Notably, Vijaypal had approached the Supreme Court seeking anticipatory bail in the case but was met with rejection as the court dismissed his plea. Subsequently, he was arrested. The custodial torture case involving Raghurama Krishnam Raju is being investigated under the supervision of Prakasam District SP Damodar.
