Accused in PDS Rice Misappropriation Case Sent to 12-Day Judicial Remand

The case of misappropriated PDS rice from the Machilipatnam Civil Supplies godown has garnered significant attention across Andhra Pradesh. In a recent development, the court granted anticipatory bail to Perni Jayasudha, wife of former minister and YSR Congress Party leader Perni Nani, who was named as Accused No. 1 in the case.

However, further investigations led to the arrest of additional suspects involved in the case. Police apprehended godown manager Manasa Teja, civil supplies assistant manager Kotireddy, rice mill owner Borra Anjaneyulu, and lorry driver Mangaraju. On Monday night, the accused were presented before the Special Mobile Magistrate in Machilipatnam, who ordered a 12-day judicial remand. Following this, the police transferred the accused to the Machilipatnam Sub-Jail.
