Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella has announced a significant $3 billion investment in India, aimed at expanding the company's cloud services, artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, and data centers. He revealed that a key goal of this investment is to provide AI skills training to 10 million people by 2030.

Nadella made this announcement during an event in Bengaluru on Tuesday. Currently visiting India, he also met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, where he pledged his commitment to advancing India's global position in the AI sector. He emphasized that Microsoft would contribute to achieving Modi's vision of making India a developed nation by 2047.

Sharing his thoughts on India's talent pool, Nadella praised Indian professionals for their eagerness to adopt new skills. Citing LinkedIn data, he highlighted that while the global adoption of AI skills on LinkedIn profiles has grown by 71%, India has seen a remarkable 122% growth. He also noted that Microsoft's "Advantage India" initiative, which aimed to train 2 million AI professionals by 2025, has already been achieved ahead of schedule. The new target of training 10 million people by 2030 reflects Microsoft's continued commitment to fostering India's digital growth.

Nadella described the $3 billion investment as a proud milestone for Microsoft and an essential step toward driving AI innovation in India. He stated that this initiative would serve as a significant catalyst for the advancement of the technology sector in the country.
