Telugu Film Industry Honours Balakrishna for Padma Bhushan Award
Veteran actor and politician Nandamuri Balakrishna was felicitated by members of the Telugu film industry after being conferred the prestigious Padma Bhushan award by the Government of India. Recognized for his contributions to cinema and public service, Balakrishna has been active in the film industry for over five decades while also serving as an MLA and chairman of the Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital.

Several prominent associations and union representatives from the Telugu film industry visited Balakrishna at his residence to congratulate him on this honor. Among those present were Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce President Bharat Bhushan, Treasurer Tummala Prasanna Kumar, Telugu Film Producers Council President Damodar Prasad, Movie Artistes' Association (MAA) Vice President Madala Ravi, Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce Secretary Anupam Reddy, Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation President Vallabhaneni Anil Kumar, Secretary Ammiraju, and Treasurer V. Suresh. Additionally, leaders from the Telugu Cine Writers Association, Telugu Cine Production Executive Union, Telugu Cine & TV Junior Artists Union, Telugu Cine & TV Outdoor Unit, and Telugu Cine Stunt Directors and Stunt Artists Union were also present at the event.

Speaking on the occasion, industry representatives expressed their pride, stating that the Padma Bhushan was a well-deserved recognition not just for Balakrishna’s contributions as an actor but also for his service to the film industry and society.

In his response, Balakrishna dedicated the honor to the Telugu film industry and his family. “This award is not just for me; it is a recognition for the entire Telugu film fraternity,” he said, adding that receiving the Padma Bhushan had further increased his sense of responsibility.
