Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha Reviews Brahmotsavam Arrangements in Srikalahasti
Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha conducted a review on Sunday regarding the arrangements for the Brahmotsavam festival at the sacred site of Srikalahasti, coinciding with the Maha Shivaratri celebrations. She inspected the preparations around the temple premises and reviewed the setup of the event stage near the Dhurjati Kala Pranganam and the Rajagopuram, issuing necessary instructions to the officials.

With a significant influx of devotees expected, Anitha discussed security measures and accommodation facilities with the authorities, emphasizing that devotees should not face any inconvenience. She directed all departments to work in coordination to ensure smooth festival arrangements.

Speaking about MLA B. Sudheer Reddy’s initiative of distributing turmeric and vermillion to visiting women devotees, Anitha commended the gesture. She also expressed that after receiving the Lord’s blessings, devotees should extend their goodwill towards the ruling government as well.

The minister assured that robust arrangements were being made for the Brahmotsavam and instructed officials to install signboards for the convenience of devotees. She emphasized keeping emergency services such as ambulances, fire safety teams, and first-aid kits on high alert through the command control center. She urged seamless coordination among police, fire, traffic personnel, and other departments for efficient execution of the festival plans.

To facilitate hassle-free darshan for ordinary devotees, Anitha suggested implementing free entry services. She stated that after VIPs complete their darshan, their passes would be collected to regulate multiple entries, ensuring that more devotees get the opportunity to visit the deity.

Regarding the Rathotsavam (chariot festival), Anitha stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness during mealtimes. Later, at the invitation of MLA B. Sudheer Reddy, the Home Minister visited his residence, where she expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by his family.

Calling Srikalahasti the “Dakshina Kailasam” (Southern Kailash), Anitha shared her joy in witnessing the self-manifested form of Lord Shiva at the sacred site. Following her visit to Srikalahasti, she also paid a visit to the Kanipakam Vinayaka temple.
