Director Shankar Expresses Anger Over ED's Actions

Renowned Tamil filmmaker Shankar has strongly reacted to the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) recent action against him. The ED has attached three immovable properties worth ₹10 crore belonging to Shankar in connection with a copyright infringement case related to the film Robo (Enthiran).
Expressing deep dissatisfaction, Shankar stated that the ED's move disregarded a court verdict. "It is distressing that the ED officials have taken such steps without considering the court's decision," he said. He further mentioned his intent to bring various aspects of this issue to public attention.
Shankar claimed that the ED temporarily attached his properties based on baseless allegations regarding Robo. He pointed out that the Madras High Court had previously dismissed a petition filed by Aaroor Tamil Nadan concerning the film’s story. "Despite the court ruling, the ED proceeded with the attachment solely based on a complaint," he alleged.
Criticizing the ED's actions, Shankar stated that they misrepresented legal facts. He announced his decision to challenge the attachment order in an appeal. "I hope the ED officials will reconsider their actions," he added.
