Ongole: Major Setback for YSRCP as 20 Corporators Join Jana Sena

The YSRCP has suffered yet another political setback, this time in Ongole. Twenty YSRCP corporators, along with three co-option members, are set to join the Jana Sena Party. The event will take place this evening in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, under the leadership of former minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy.
Despite efforts for several days, the corporators’ defection to Jana Sena was delayed due to Pawan Kalyan’s unavailability. The corporators had originally won their positions with the support of Balineni Srinivasa Reddy when he was part of YSRCP. Following his departure from YSRCP and subsequent induction into Jana Sena, these corporators have decided to follow him into the party.
Political analysts believe that if all 23 members switch allegiance, it could significantly alter the political landscape in Ongole. Over the past few months, YSRCP has faced a series of setbacks, losing control over several municipal corporations and municipalities across the state.
