India’s B-Team Could Beat This Pakistan Side, Claims Sunil Gavaskar

Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar has strongly criticized Pakistan’s performance after their early exit from the Champions Trophy. Pakistan, which played as the defending champions, faced heavy backlash from all quarters due to their disappointing campaign on home soil. Former Pakistani cricketers have also openly criticized their team, and now Gavaskar has joined the chorus.
Speaking on Pakistan’s performance, Gavaskar stated, “Looking at this team, it seems they wouldn’t even be able to beat India’s B-team.” He mentioned that he initially expected Pakistan to provide a tough challenge to India but, based on their current form, even winning against India’s second-string side would be difficult.
Gavaskar further pointed out that despite having the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and domestic tournaments, Pakistan is struggling to find quality players. In contrast, he highlighted that India's young players are being groomed through the Indian Premier League (IPL) and domestic competitions like the Ranji Trophy. He suggested that Pakistan should analyze this situation and take necessary steps.
Pakistan, the defending champions, suffered a defeat in their opening match against New Zealand. Their campaign took another hit with a loss to India in Dubai on Sunday. With Bangladesh losing to New Zealand on Monday, Pakistan was officially eliminated from the tournament. They will now play a final, inconsequential match against Bangladesh.
