Star Athlete Couple in Legal Dispute, File Complaints Against Each Other
International women's boxer Saweety Boora and her husband, former Indian kabaddi player Deepak Hooda, are embroiled in a legal dispute, with both filing complaints against each other at police stations in Hisar and Rohtak.

Saweety Boora has accused Deepak Hooda of domestic violence and dowry harassment. In her complaint filed at the Hisar police station in Haryana, she alleged that Hooda and his family demanded an SUV and ₹1 crore as dowry and assaulted her. She also claimed that he pressured her to quit boxing and eventually forced her out of their home following a dispute in October last year. Based on her complaint, Hisar police have registered an FIR against Hooda under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

On the other hand, Deepak Hooda has alleged that Saweety Boora’s family has taken over his property and has threatened him with severe consequences. He has filed a complaint regarding this matter at the Rohtak police station. The investigation into both complaints is currently underway.

The couple, who got married on July 7, 2022, are now on the verge of separation. Notably, Deepak Hooda received the Arjuna Award in 2020, while Saweety Boora, who won a gold medal at the 2023 World Championships, was honored with the prestigious award in January this year.
