Final Judgment in Pranay Murder Case: Death Penalty for Subhash Sharma

The Nalgonda SC/ST Second Additional Sessions Court has delivered its final verdict in the Pranay murder case, which created a sensation at the time. The court has sentenced Subhash Sharma, listed as Accused No. 2 (A2) in the case, to death. Subhash Sharma, a criminal from Bihar, was found guilty of executing the murder.
Additionally, the court sentenced the remaining accused to life imprisonment. During the sentencing, the convicted individuals pleaded with the judge for leniency, arguing that they had families and were not involved in the crime. Amrutha's uncle, Shravan Kumar, stated in court that he had no connection to the case and that he had three unmarried children who would suffer due to his imprisonment.
Maruthi Rao, the prime accused (A1) and Amrutha’s father, died by suicide in March 2020. The murder of Pranay took place on September 14, 2018, in Miryalaguda. Maruthi Rao had allegedly hired contract killers to murder Pranay because he was enraged over his daughter marrying him.
