Hospital Technician Held for ICU Assault on Air Hostess
Police have arrested a man for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. Though the incident occurred on April 6, it came to light only recently.

According to details, the 46-year-old woman, who works as an air hostess, was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram by her family members after she fell ill. She was being treated in the ICU when, on April 6, a young man allegedly sexually assaulted her. Due to her condition and the fact that she was bedridden, she was unable to resist the attacker.

After being discharged from the hospital on April 13, the woman informed her husband about the incident. Her husband then took her to the police station, where she filed a complaint detailing the assault. The woman informed the police that she was unable to prevent the assault because of her health condition at the time. She also stated that two nurses were present in the ICU during the incident but failed to intervene.

Based on her complaint, a case was registered at the Sadar Police Station on April 14. Senior police officials treated the case with seriousness and formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising eight members to probe the incident. The SIT reviewed approximately 800 CCTV footage clips from the hospital and questioned the hospital staff to identify the perpetrator.

During the investigation, the SIT identified the accused as Deepak, a 25-year-old technician who had been working at the hospital for the past five months. Deepak hails from Badhouli village in Muzaffarpur district, Bihar. Police have now arrested Deepak for the alleged assault.
