ED Probes Actor Mahesh Babu’s Role in Sai Surya Promotions

Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu has received an unexpected jolt as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued him notices. According to the notices, Mahesh Babu has been summoned to appear for questioning on the 27th of this month. The ED notices were issued in connection with the affairs of Surana Group and Sai Surya Developers. The agency conducted searches at these companies over two days last week.
ED officials identified that Mahesh Babu received ₹5.9 crore from Sai Surya Developers as part of a promotional arrangement. Of this, ₹3.5 crore was paid in cash and ₹2.5 crore was transferred via Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), according to the officials. In light of these findings, the ED served notices to Mahesh Babu. The agency is now investigating the remuneration paid to him.
It is known that Mahesh Babu, along with his wife and children, appeared in an advertisement for Sai Surya Developers.
The ED is investigating the case based on FIRs registered by the Telangana Police. K. Satish Chandra Gupta, the owner of Sai Surya Developers, and Narendra Surana, director of the Surana Group, along with others, are facing allegations of defrauding buyers. The charges against them include selling plots in unapproved layouts, selling the same plot to multiple individuals, and making false promises regarding registration.
Furthermore, ED officials believe that while Mahesh Babu may not have been directly involved in the fraudulent activities, his endorsement of Sai Surya’s projects led many investors to put their money into them. The ED is now examining the cash received by Mahesh Babu as part of this case.
