Actor Ajith Kumar, actress Shruti Haasan, and several other Kollywood celebrities attended the match. Following CSK's loss, Shruti Haasan became emotional. After the defeat, she was seen wiping away tears. A video of Shruti Haasan in tears has gone viral online. She had attended the match with friends and enjoyed watching the game seated among the audience.

Shruti Haasan appeared delighted as Mahendra Singh Dhoni came out to bat, taking photos of him on her mobile phone. However, she was left disappointed when CSK lost the match, leading her to tears.

The defeat on home ground also deeply disappointed Chennai fans, who are struggling to come to terms with the loss. With this outcome, CSK has nearly exited the race for the playoffs. Unless a miracle occurs, it is almost impossible for Chennai to advance beyond the group stage. The team must win its remaining five matches by significant margins. So far, CSK has played nine matches, winning only two, and currently sits at the bottom of the points table.
