Seema Haider Requests PM Modi, CM Yogi to Let Her Stay in India
In the backdrop of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Government of India has taken several key decisions concerning neighboring Pakistan. As part of these measures, India has directed all Pakistani nationals residing in the country to leave by April 27. The Ministry of External Affairs issued this directive on Thursday.

According to the announcement, all visas issued to Pakistani citizens will be revoked effective April 27. However, those in India on medical visas have been granted an extension until April 29. Amidst these developments, reports emerged that Pakistani national Seema Haider might be deported.

Responding to these reports, Seema Haider released a video statement. In it, she said she had no intention of returning to Pakistan and pleaded not to be sent back. She appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to allow her to remain in India. “Although I was once a Pakistani citizen, I am now a daughter-in-law of India. Please don’t send me to Pakistan,” she urged the Indian government.

Seema Haider recalled that she converted to Hinduism when she married her partner, Sachin Meena, in 2023. Her lawyer expressed hope that the Indian government would permit Seema to stay in the country despite widespread anti-Pakistan sentiment following the recent attack. He stated that since Seema married an Indian citizen and gave birth to a daughter, she should no longer be considered a Pakistani national and may not be required to leave the country.

Seema Haider, who hails from Pakistan, had reportedly met Sachin Meena, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, through the online game PUBG. In 2023, she crossed the border illegally with her four children and entered India to be with him. She later married her partner.
