Security forces demolish another terrorist's house in Kashmir

Security forces have demolished the residence of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Jameel Ahmad in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district, continuing their intensified crackdown following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. This marks the ninth instance of a terrorist's house being destroyed in the region as part of the ongoing security operations.
Jameel Ahmad has been an active member of Lashkar-e-Taiba since 2016. On the previous night, security forces also destroyed the house of Amir Nazir, a terrorist with affiliations to the Pakistan-based group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), in the Tral area.
Just a day earlier, security forces had demolished the homes of two other Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists. One of them was Adnan Shafi from Shopian district, who joined the group in 2024. The second was Farooq Ahmad, who is currently believed to be residing in Pakistan.
In the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, security forces, in coordination with district officials, have been conducting a three-day operation across the Kashmir Valley, targeting the properties of militants.
On Friday, the residence of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Adil Hussain Thokar, believed to have played a key role in the Pahalgam attack, was demolished with explosives in the Bijbehara region. Adil Thokar had infiltrated into Jammu and Kashmir last year after undergoing training at terrorist camps in Pakistan, where he had moved in 2018.
Adil Thokar is suspected of being a central figure in the attack on tourists that occurred on April 22 in Baisaran Meadows, Pahalgam.
Anantnag police have announced a reward of ₹20 lakh for information leading to the capture of Adil Thokar, along with Pakistani nationals Alibhai alias Talha and Asif Fauji.
According to security agencies, five to six terrorists were involved in the Pahalgam attack, in which they reportedly targeted and brutally killed Hindu civilians.
