Folk Singer Neha Singh Booked for Sedition Over Social Media Posts After Pahalgam Attack
Folk singer Neha Singh Rathore is facing serious legal action after allegedly posting provocative content on social media in the aftermath of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. According to reports, the Lucknow police have registered a sedition case against her following a formal complaint.

The complaint was filed by an individual named Abhay Pratap Singh, who accused Neha Singh Rathore of sharing objectionable posts on her X account (formerly Twitter) that could negatively affect national unity. He alleged that her social media activity attempted to incite one community against another based on religion and that she repeatedly made efforts to stir communal sentiments.

As per the complaint, the posts were considered harmful to national integrity and could potentially disrupt social harmony. Based on these allegations, a case has been registered at the Hazratganj police station in Lucknow.

Police officials confirmed that multiple charges have been filed against Neha Singh Rathore under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including inciting religious hatred, disturbing public peace, and endangering the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of India. Additionally, the singer has also been booked under relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act.
