AP CID Issues Fresh Notices to Two IPS Officers in Actress Jethwani Case
In a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the case involving Mumbai-based actress Kadambari Jethwani, the Andhra Pradesh Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has issued fresh notices to two senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers—Kanthi Rana Tata and Vishal Gunni. The notices explicitly direct both officers to appear for questioning on May 5.

According to official sources, the new notices were prompted by inconsistencies observed between the previous testimonies of these officers and the recent deposition given by former Intelligence Chief PSR Anjaneyulu during the ongoing inquiry. CID officials are currently interrogating PSR Anjaneyulu in connection with the case.

During his deposition, PSR Anjaneyulu reportedly contradicted certain claims previously made by Kanthi Rana Tata and Vishal Gunni. In particular, Vishal Gunni had earlier informed the CID that, in his capacity as Intelligence Chief at the time, Anjaneyulu had assigned him the task of bringing Kadambari Jethwani from Mumbai. However, Anjaneyulu has now clarified during questioning that he may have discussed only surveillance-related matters with Vishal Gunni and firmly stated that he had not engaged in any conversation with either Vishal Gunni or Kanthi Rana Tata regarding Kadambari Jethwani.

Both Kanthi Rana Tata and Vishal Gunni were previously questioned by CID officials in connection with this same case. In light of PSR Anjaneyulu’s current testimony, CID officials now believe that there are notable discrepancies among the statements of the three officers. To clarify these contradictions and to ascertain the factual sequence of events, the CID has decided to summon Kanthi Rana Tata and Vishal Gunni for further questioning. Accordingly, they have been issued fresh notices to appear on May 5.

Further revelations in the case are expected following this round of interrogation.
