President Ram Nath Kovind unveils golden statue of Sri Ramanujacharya

Hyderabad: President Ram Nath Kovind visited the Statue of Equality at the Muchhinthal ashram on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Sunday. Chinna Jeeyar Swamy accorded the President a warm welcome upon his arrival at the ashram. As part of the visit, President Ram unveiled a golden statue of  Sri Ramanujacharya.

A 120 kg gold statue was made to mark the 120-year life of Ramanujacharya; Chinna Jeeyar Swamy briefed the President about the ashram.

Speaking on the occasion, Ram Nath Kovind congratulated all on the occasion of Ramanuja's millennium celebrations. The President was happy to dedicate the golden statue of Ramanujacharya to the nation. He said 108 shrines were consecrated at the ashram and added that Muchhinthal will become a prominent spiritual centre. Similarly, Sri Ramanagaram will flourish as an Advaita and Samata Kshetram.

Ram Nath Kovind has said that Sri Ramanujacharya has eradicated social inequalities. He explained that Ramanuja worked for devotion and equality among the people. He reminded that Ramanujacharya inspired people across the country with his messages. He lauded Chinna Jeeyar Swamy for creating a history of sorts by creating the golden idol of the great man.
