Telangana Talli Should Remain Eternal: Revanth Reddy in Assembly

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy praised Sonia Gandhi for fulfilling the aspirations of millions by granting statehood to Telangana. Speaking in the Assembly, he described Sonia Gandhi as the great leader who realized the long-standing dream of the people. He extended birthday wishes to Sonia Gandhi on her 78th birthday on behalf of the people of Telangana, recalling December 9 as a historic day when the announcement for Telangana's formation was made in 2009.

Revanth Reddy quoted the famous lines of poet Dasarathi, "Naa Telangana... Koti Ratanala Veena" emphasizing that a community's identity lies in its existence. He credited "Telangana Talli" (Mother Telangana) for uniting people during the state's struggle. He stated that Telangana Talli continuously inspired the people toward their goals and led various public movements.

The Telangana government has decided to install a statue of Telangana Talli in the Secretariat premises to honor her significance. Revanth Reddy explained that Telangana Talli is not just a concept but the collective emotional essence of four crore people, reflecting the state’s traditions, culture, and historical legacy.

Revanth Reddy explained that the statue's design draws inspiration from historical figures like Chakali Ailamma, Sammakka, and Saralamma. He highlighted its key features, including a serene expression, traditional attire, and ornaments such as nose rings, bangles, and anklets. He also mentioned that Telangana's staple crops, including paddy, sorghum, and millet, are depicted in her hands. Additionally, he noted that the pedestal’s blue color symbolizes the state’s iconic rivers, Godavari and Krishna.

Revanth Reddy expressed hope that Telangana Talli's legacy would endure as long as history itself.
