MS Dhoni Surpasses Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan in Brand Endorsements Despite Retirement

Despite retiring from international cricket four years ago, former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's popularity remains undiminished. Wherever the legendary cricketer goes, fans gather in massive numbers, and when he steps onto the field with a bat, the stadium erupts with cheers. Currently, Dhoni only plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he continues to be a fan favorite. Recently, the Chennai Super Kings franchise retained him for ₹4 crore, ensuring another season of excitement for his followers in the upcoming IPL edition.

Even though Dhoni bid farewell to international cricket, his market value has not diminished. In fact, it has risen significantly in the first half of 2024. According to a report by TAM Media Research, Dhoni surpassed Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan in brand endorsements during this period.

As per the report, Dhoni secured a total of 42 brand deals in the first half of 2024, surpassing Amitabh Bachchan by one and Shah Rukh Khan by eight endorsements. Among his latest associations is becoming the brand ambassador for EuroGrip Tyres. His endorsement portfolio already includes major brands such as Gulf Oil, Cleartrip, Mastercard, Citroën, Lay’s, and Garuda Aerospace, further solidifying his status as a marketable icon.
