In a recent statement, Andhra Pradesh BJP Chief and Rajahmundry MP Daggubati Purandeswari clarified that actor Allu Arjun is not responsible for the stampede at the Sandhya Theatre. She stated that Allu Arjun visited the theatre to promote his movie "Pushpa 2" as its lead actor, but he did not incite the incident. Highlighting that Allu Arjun is listed as A11 in the case, Purandeswari questioned the fairness of targeting and arresting him alone while ignoring others involved.

This clarification follows heated remarks in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, where Chief Minister Revanth Reddy criticized Allu Arjun and alleged his involvement in the incident. Reacting to the accusations, Allu Arjun held a press meet and denied all allegations, calling them baseless and claiming he was being falsely blamed. His father, Allu Aravind, echoed similar sentiments in support of his son.

Purandeswari made these remarks during a foundation stone-laying ceremony for a girls’ hostel in Kothamamidi Palem Road, Ongole, organized by the Kakatiya Seva Samakhya. Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the event, she addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding Allu Arjun.
