Sukumar’s Daughter Shaves Her Head for a Movie Role!
Actors often undergo physical transformations to bring authenticity to their roles, such as growing hair or beards for specific characters. However, very few artists go to extreme lengths for their roles. For the first time in Telugu cinema, a young actress has made headlines by shaving her head for a movie role.
According to reports, Sukriti Veni, daughter of acclaimed director Sukumar, who garnered widespread recognition with Pushpa-2, plays the lead role in the film Gandhi Tatha Chettu. The film, built around a heartwarming concept and a strong social message, required Sukriti to appear in a scene dressed as Mahatma Gandhi. To maintain authenticity, the 13-year-old actress shaved her head for the role. This bold move has surprised many, as such dedication is rare, especially for someone so young.
Director Sukumar is known for his perfectionist approach in filmmaking. Following in her father’s footsteps, Sukriti’s commitment to portraying the role convincingly has earned widespread admiration. Those who have seen the film have praised her natural and impressive performance.
Gandhi Tata Chettu is directed by Padmavati Malladi and jointly produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings, and Gopi Talkies. Sukumar’s wife, Tabitha Sukumar, is presenting the film, while Naveen Yerneni, Yalamanchili Ravishankar, and Shesha Sindhu Rao are the producers.
The film has already been showcased at several international film festivals, winning multiple awards. Sukriti Veni has even received the Best Child Artist award for her role. The movie is set for a worldwide theatrical release on January 24. Additionally, the film’s trailer will be launched by superstar Mahesh Babu this evening through his social media channels.
