We owe a lot to armed forces personnel: Telangana Governor
Hyderabad, Dec 7: Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday said that we all owed a lot to the armed forces personnel.
She said that armed forces personnel were making numerous sacrifices and were showing exemplary valour in protecting our country and ensuring our peaceful living.
The Governor was launching the Armed Forces Flag Day event, which is celebrated on December 7th every year, at the Raj Bhavan, here.
Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan stated that it was our duty to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund so as to express our gratitude to the service and sacrifices made by our brave armed forces personnel.
“The armed forces personnel are living for the country. We cannot compensate their sacrifices. But we can do our bit by donating generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund as a token of our respect and gratitude to them,” she added.
The Governor also offered to start self-employment training on behalf of the Raj Bhavan for the benefit of the war widows and other members of the armed forces’ families for their empowerment.
The Governor stated that the proposed training was aimed at economically empowering them in the true spirit of Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiative of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The proposed training would help them overcome the economic setbacks caused due to the Covid-19 and its consequent disruption of economic activities.
As part of the event at the Raj Bhavan, here, the Governor made a generous donation to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund.
She has also presented Trophies to Ranga Reddy and Nizamabad Sainik Welfare regions for collecting maximum amounts for the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund during the year. The Governor appreciated their efforts.
The donated amounts will be used for the welfare of the serving and retired armed forces personnel, and their families and for the rehabilitation of the battle-casualties.
