Krea University Inaugurates New Academic Block
Sri City, Saturday, 27 August 2022: Krea University inaugurated its new Academic Block at the Sri City Campus yesterday. The Union Minister of State for Education, Government of India, Dr Subhas Sarkar inaugurated the new Academic Block in the presence of Kapil Viswanathan, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Governing Council, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Professional Learning Ramkumar Ramamoorthy, Dr. Lakshmi Kumar, Dean IFMR GSB Krea University and other members of the Krea community.
The new Academic Block is spread over 25,000 square feet and includes a new library and three research labs for physics, biosciences and chemistry.
The library, housed in the new block, is over 10,000 square feet and holds over a lakh books. The new library will contain discussion rooms, work stations and has been established primarily for the research faculties at the University. Set in a scenic spot, the library allows users to step out for a refreshing break in the quiet, green spaces surrounding the block.
The new Academic Block has been designed in a sustainable way to use maximum natural light, reducing dependence on artificial lights.
