Hyderabad to Host 100-Foot NTR Statue as Government Allocates Land
The Telangana government has agreed to allocate land near Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road for the installation of a 100-foot statue of Telugu Desam Party founder and legendary actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR). Additionally, plans for setting up the NTR Knowledge Center at the same location have been approved, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy extending his support.
On Thursday, NTR Literature Committee Chairman and former MLC T.D. Janardhan, along with NTR’s son Nandamuri Mohanakrishna and committee member Madhusudhana Raju, met with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. During the meeting, Janardhan briefed the Chief Minister about the committee's activities over the past year and shared their vision for establishing a 100-foot NTR statue in Hyderabad.
The proposed NTR Knowledge Center aims to be a cultural and educational hub, enhancing the site as a prominent tourist destination. Janardhan and Mohanakrishna requested the Chief Minister’s support by allocating government land for the project.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy commended the committee’s efforts, acknowledging NTR’s enduring popularity among Telugu people as both an actor and a political leader. He assured full cooperation from the Telangana government in realizing the project.
Expressing gratitude for the Chief Minister's positive response, Janardhan conveyed his thanks on behalf of the NTR Literature Committee, emphasizing the joy and anticipation the initiative has sparked among NTR’s admirers.
