How the age difference is counted
From the earlier date of birth to the later one, the same way as an age: whole years, then whole months, then days.
Example: between Thursday, 12 April 1990 and Thursday, 3 November 1994 the gap is 4 years, 6 months, 22 days, or 1,666 days.
Questions
Does the age gap change as we grow older?
No. The gap in years, months and days stays the same for life; only each person's age changes.
Can I use it for anything other than people?
Yes: it gives the exact gap between any two dates, such as two anniversaries or the start of two jobs.
